Over 30 years of experience performing IMEs for neurosurgical-related issues (brain, spine, and peripheral nerve injury). In addition to performing IMEs, Dr. Curling maintains an active clinical practice focused on the evaluation and non-operative management of mild brain injury (concussion, headache, post concussive syndrome), in addition to providing both interventional and non-interventional treatment of neck and back pain, nerve injuries, and other painful conditions (e.g., CRPS)
Dr. Curling has received degrees/training from Duke University, University of Virginia, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and Auburn University and has been practicing in central North Carolina since 1991. He presently sees a high percentage of North Carolina worker's compensation cases, but also evaluates out of state and federal W/C, as well as private disability and personal injury cases. Referrals are received from adjusters, case managers, defense/plaintiff attorneys, other physicians, or upon direct recommendation/order of the NC Industrial Commission. In addition to IMEs, other related medicolegal services are available, including review of records, surgical opinions, additional opinion on ratings, fit for duty evaluations, and attorney consultation or testimony as needed.
