Dr. Andrew Calman is a full-time, board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with an active surgical practice, examining and treating patients with a variety of problems including retinal disorders, glaucoma, cataract, corneal disorders, eyelid disorders, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions affecting vision. He holds a BS and MS in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University (summa cum laude), and an MD and PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from UCSF (Dean's Prize, Chancellor's Fellowship), where he also completed residency training in ophthalmology.
Dr. Calman holds clinical faculty positions at UCSF and California Pacific Medical Center, and has trained medical students from around the world in his private practice. He is Past President of the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and helped shape regional and national eye care policy as a member of the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and American Academy of Ophthalmology Health Policy Committe...
