Dr Truncale's clinical expertise includes assessing chemical/inhalation exposures including asthma, RADS, ARDS and chemical pneumonitis, evaluating indoor air quality and building related illness including mold exposure, occupational lung disease from asbestos, coal or silica exposure, determining causation, utilization review, medical necessity, chart review, standard of care, fitness for duty, impairment/disability and reasonable treatment as they relate to the respiratory system.
Board certified in Pulmonary Diseases, Occupational Medicine, Internal and Critical Care Medicine. Director of the Occupational Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida. Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida and serves on several Masters of Science in Public Health and PhD committees. Earned degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993 and an MPH in Occupational Medicine from the University of South Florida in 2003. Program director of the NIOSH approved Spirometry course #109 since 2010. Dr Truncale has more than 18 years of clinical experience teaching medical students, interns, residents, fellows, physician assistants, and pharmacy students.
