He has achieved and maintained Quadruple Certifications in Psychiatry (1983), Addiction Psychiatry (1993, 2003, 2013,), Geriatric Psychiatry (1994, 2004, 2014,) and Forensic Psychiatry (1999, 2009); also, Certification in Addiction Medicine, 1988-98. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Massachusetts Psychiatric Society; Instructor in the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Workshop. Former Harvard Medical School Instructor and Cornell University Alumnus.
