Dr. Morrison is a UCSF-trained adult psychiatrist and a UCSD-trained child & adolescent psychiatrist, board-certified in both disciplines. Along with clinical work, he conducts independent medical evaluations (IMEs) and testifies as an expert witness. He has been retained in cases involving PTSD, trauma from disasters & accidents (fires, vehicles, animals, buildings, etc), emotional distress, malpractice, standard of care, suicide, and capacity, and has expertise in psychedelic therapy, ketamine, MDMA, and competency to stand trial. He is Co-Director of the UCSD Child Psychiatry Fellowship’s Psychopathology Course and Coordinator of its Forensics Selective rotation. He serves as an elected regional liaison to the Disaster & Trauma Issues Committee of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
