Dr. Jackson is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both general and forensic psychiatry. Dr. Jackson completed general psychiatry residency at the University of South Carolina, and fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Virginia, where he was trained at the UVA Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy. He currently cares for patients on a state forensic admissions unit. Dr. Jackson has practiced in a variety of psychiatric settings, including civil and forensic inpatient admissions units, acute and sub-acute medical hospitals, nursing homes, as well as multiple outpatient psychiatric settings, such as community mental health centers, student health centers, and routine outpatient clinics. He has consulted with attorneys throughout the state of Virginia and provides medical record review services to various insurance carriers.
