Dr. Charlotte Akor, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with nearly 20 years of clinical and surgical experience in general and pediatric ophthalmology. She provides independent, objective medical examinations and expert analysis across the full spectrum of ocular conditions. Dr. Akor is a primary participant in her hospital’s trauma call rotation, managing acute ocular injuries and emergent ophthalmic conditions. She previously served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she participated in trauma call at one of the largest and busiest medical centers in the country. For more than ten years, Dr. Akor has performed quality assurance, utilization review, and peer chart review, evaluating clinical decision-making, documentation standards, and adherence to ophthalmic standards of care. She has also conducted disability evaluations for Veterans Evaluation Services, assessing functional visual impairment and service-related ocular conditions. Services include Independent Medical Examinations (IME), record review, causation analysis, standard-of-care review, permanency and impairment ratings (AMA Guides), and deposition or trial testimony.
