Dr. Budoff is a board certified Orthopedic Hand & Upper extremity surgeon, who has published 47 articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored over 23 textbook chapters and edited 7 textbooks on the treatment of disorders of the upper extremity (Hand, Wrist, Elbow and Shoulder). He has served on national committees and lectured at national meetings. He served as an Associate Master Instructor of shoulder arthroscopy for a national organization and taught other practicing orthopedic surgeons the most up-to-date techniques of arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He was a Leadership Fellow for both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery and a Reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, two of the most prestigious orthopaedic journals, where he helped other surgeons prepare their manuscripts for publication. Dr. Budoff graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University and with honors from Cornell Medical School. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, where his test scores over his four years of residency were among the highest in the nation. In order to obtain expertise covering the entire upper extremity, he completed two fellowships, one in Hand Surgery and the other in Sports Medicine. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Hand Surgery. Dr. Budoff spent 9 years teaching medical students, residents and Hand Surgery Fellows at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor. Dr. Budoff specializes in open and arthroscopic surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
